We're proud to share that last Tuesday, our Mechanical Engineering Apprentice took on the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) Design Challenge, and not only did they take home 1st place, they took 2nd place too!
Hosted across the road at the BattleLab, teams were tasked to design, build and test a device that can simulate autonomous robotic charging, and have the capability to complete repeatable tasks in a straight line with no interference or outside control. With points based on accuracy and engagement of charging, and the device returning to its starting point, it's safe to say AEUK apprentices went above and beyond, securing a brilliant 1st place!
Our apprentices will represent Bournemouth and Poole College this October in London, and take on the rest of the competition in the IMechE Design Challenge 2025 National Final. We wish them the very best of luck and look forward to seeing what they come up with! 🏎️
