Dorset company wins innovation quantum funding

25/11/2025

A Dorset company is just one of 14 projects across the country to win a share of £14 million that is being invested by Innovate UK to accelerate the development and adoption of quantum technology.

Curtiss-Wright Wimborne Limited is receiving investment from Innovate UK to develop a single-photon raman tritium analyser.

Nuclear fusion reactors are set to become a crucial piece in solving the zero-carbon puzzle.

Fusion reactors use tritium, an extremely valuable substance, as fuel and accurate and real-time monitoring of tritium is essential.

Curtiss-Wright and partners are proposing to develop a single instrument for the real-time detection and quantification of tritium.

A huge well done to Curtiss-Wright - another wonderful example of the innovation work taking place right here in Dorset.
