National Manufacturing Day 2024

Manufacturers are being urged to open their doors and SIGN UP to the recently launched National Manufacturing Day 2024 to help attract new talent into our vibrant sector.

Hundreds of British manufacturing companies will once again open their doors for National Manufacturing Day – a UK-wide Open House on the 26 September, giving local communities the chance to see the potential careers and jobs on offer.

For the third year running, schools, colleges, universities and members of the public will be invited on NMD to experience first-hand what manufacturers do, how they create some of our most loved household brands and see some of the most cutting-edge tech used in business anywhere in the world.

Make UK will again partner with the Department for Education which will publicise the events in all schools, colleges and training centres – the events will be easy to find using the postcode finder on the dedicated NMD website. The Department for Work and Pensions will also display the events in all job centres, while working with companies to arrange bespoke interviews on the day for specific vacancies manufacturers may have.

It is advisable to invite your local schools and colleges as soon as possible so they can plan their visit into their activity schedules for the year – schools usually plan at least six months in advance.
