WEAF - DAY 2 AT THE FIA

WEAF team sweltered under record temperatures during day 2 of the FIA show. Despite the weather there where plenty of interested people attending the stand in Hall 1. WEAF welcomed visits from Kathrine Bennett CEO of the HVMC catapults and the Honeywell Yeovil and MOOG.

Interest in the region capabilities was high through out the day,

Day 2 also heralded the launch of the latest AGP strategy and WEAF supported a NATEP reception on the adjacent FAC stand.

The WEAF team also held meetings with Zero Avia and Airlander discussing the potential for supply chain opportunities and the development of a south west based flight trial centre at Exeter.

CEO Colin Turner commented: “The hot topic at the show on day 2 has been raw material availability, After discussing the market with a number of raw material stockholders and Forgers. The conclusion is that the industry is going to suffer for a short supply of raw material for 18-24 months . Certain material commodities could take 3 years to recover to pre-pandemic supply levels. The advice for WEAF members and the SouthWest region is to work very closely with your raw material suppliers and plan very carefully your forward procurement “.
