I am writing to advise you of a brand-new business support programme that Dorset LEP will be launching in the coming weeks.
Following discussions with some of you we have designed a programme to encourage Dorset businesses to diversify into the Defence and Security supply chain. We are delighted to have partnered with SWMAS as the delivery partner for this programme.
The defence and security sector is a key priority sector for Dorset LEP and an important component of Dorset's business economy, offering substantial opportunities for growth and innovation. By actively engaging with the defence and security supply chain, Dorset businesses gain access to diverse revenue streams, collaborative opportunities, and funding for innovation, contributing significantly to the region's economic growth and fostering a culture of innovation. We will actively promote relevant funding opportunities e.g. Innovate UK and DASA etc and membership of the SWRDSC.
As part of the contract SWMAS will be delivering the following to circa 100 individuals representing businesses predominantly from AEM and Digital sectors.
- Organising workshops and networking events to promote the benefits of diversifying into the defence and security supply chain.
- Providing advisory support to SMEs interested in exploring opportunities in the defence and security sector.
- Liaising with primes, funding bodies, and other stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and access to funding opportunities.
