Innovate UK currently has several exciting opportunities for manufacturers to secure funding, drive advancements across the industry and help position the UK as a world leader for manufacturing innovation.
The UK’s national innovation agency, Innovate UK, supports business-led innovation in all sectors, technologies and UK regions, helping businesses grow through the development and commercialisation of new products, processes, and services. And right now Innovate UK has some really exciting opportunities for manufacturers which we urge organisations to take advantage of.
Sustainable bio-based materials and manufacture: CR&D
This is a £12m collaborative R&D competition to develop step-change improvements to sustainable biomanufacturing in the UK. It opened on 7 March and closes on 3 May.

Resource Efficiency for Materials and Manufacturing
A further £12m is available to fund ambitious and collaborative research & development projects to support UK organisations to become significantly more resource efficient. This will open on 31 March and there is a briefing event today, 21 March, where interested parties can ask any questions directly to expert innovation leads at Innovate UK.

Reimagine Materials and Manufacturing Event 4 April
Innovate UK is holding an in-person event in London on 4 April to reimagine materials and manufacturing, learn about upcoming competitions, and find partners. Among other things, attendees will find out more about these funding opportunities and the vision, but the main part of the day will be focused on networking and partnership building.
