The Festival of Design and Engineering 2025

Thursday 26th June - Saturday 28th June

📍 Location: SUBU & Sport hall, Bournemouth Unviersity Talbot Campus

The Festival of Design and Engineering is a showcase exhibition where our students’ creative skills, designs and prototypes are displayed to industry, commerce, friends, family and the general public. Our students will be on-hand to talk about the technologies they have employed to design solutions to real world problems, encompassing market need, function, sustainability, style and aesthetics.

The Festival takes place at our Talbot Campus and features the designs, models and prototypes created by our students. We are open to the public, industry & commerce, friends & family, Schools & Colleges.

Day 1: Thursday 26th June - Industry Private View

• Industry Private View - Exhibition open: 4pm - 8pm
• Pechakucha Night part of the Industry Private View - 6pm - 7pm

What to expect at our Industry Private View Pechakucha Night?

If you work in Design and/or Engineering, join us for an inspiring Pechakucha Night as part of the Industry Private View at our Festival of Design & Engineering.

This fast-paced event will feature a dynamic lineup of presenters, including students and industry professionals, each delivering a 15-slide, 20-seconds-per-slide presentation. Expect thought-provoking insights into cutting-edge design and engineering innovations, industry trends, and creative problem-solving.

Whether you're a professional, an academic, or simply passionate about design and engineering, this is a great opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and celebrate innovation.

Day 2: Friday - 27th June - General Public

• Open to Schools & Colleges 10am - 12pm*
• Open to the Public 12pm - 4pm
• Women in STEM Networking 12pm – 1pm (this event will be in FG06 in the Fusion Building)

*Schools & College wishing to attend Schools & Colleges Day on Friday 27th June (10am - 12pm) should contact the Schools Liaison Team via email: schoolsliaison@bournemouth.ac.uk

Day 3: Saturday 28th June - General Public

• BU Design & Engineering Open Day* 10am - 2pm
• Open to the Public 10am - 4pm
