Careers Network Breakfast for employers - Tuesday 21st May (Seeking Local Employers)

21/05/2024 to 21/05/2024

Magna and Livingstone Academy are seeking local employers to work with them in a professional capacity supporting their careers programme. If you are an employer, we would like to invite you to attend a South Coast Aspirations Academy Trust careers networking breakfast on Tuesday 21st May at Livingstone Academy, Bournemouth.

The Aspirations Academy Trust has a holistic approach to education, prioritising students' academic, social, emotional and physical well-being. A significant part of our approach is the development of skills that are essential for success in the workplace, such as communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration and digital literacy. To achieve this, we work hard to foster strong partnerships with families, local businesses and community organisations to enrich students' educational experiences and provide opportunities for real-world learning and career exploration.

During our networking breakfast, we would like to inform you of this work and inspire you to join us in being a central part of our careers programme for our students aged 4 - 19 years old across Livingstone Academy, Bournemouth and Magna Academy, Poole. We believe the partnership between employers and education is essential for the academic attainments and personal growth of our young people. The benefits of working with employers for students in the UK are multifaceted, providing them with valuable experiences and skills that can positively impact their academic and professional futures. These opportunities also enhance their understanding of workplaces in their communities.

By meeting with employers, our students are exposed to different industries, roles and career paths, helping them make informed decisions about their future career aspirations. Interacting with employers provides students with valuable networking opportunities, which can lead to mentorship, internships, job offers and professional connections that may benefit them throughout their careers. Fundamentally, working with employers can boost students' confidence in their abilities and provide validation of their skills and knowledge.

We also believe that working closely with local academies can bring you tangible benefits allowing you to identify and nurture future talent. By building relationships with schools and colleges, employers can access a pool of motivated and ambitious students who may be potential candidates for future internships, apprenticeships, or employment opportunities. Also, collaborating with educational institutions provides employers with the opportunity to contribute to the development of essential skills in young people.

Lastly, attending our Careers Networking Breakfast will allow you to meet with other local employers and find out how they are liaising with local schools. We understand that you have busy schedules so would like to offer two different opportunities to attend, either between 8.30 - 9:00am or 9.15 -9.45am on Tuesday 21st May.
