Have you thought about hosting a young person to gain valuable work skills for the world of work? Supported Interns are local young people aged between 18 and 25 years, with an EHCP, who have finished their education journey and are ready to work. BCP council offer a programme to support these individuals into paid employment. An intern will spend time with your teams, learning and growing skills. They are supported by a job coach, always adding to your workforce rather than detracting valuable employee time. Interns complete rotations in various areas, looking at entry level jobs. These rotations last around 10 weeks at a time. The programme is in its third year with great employment success, and employers are finding this a great way to recruit for staffing shortages.
We are hosting a Pan Dorset Business Network Breakfast on Thursday 27 March where you will be able to hear all about the internship scheme, hear from businesses already on board and interns themselves.
